April MNK Prayer Calendar

April Prayer Gram

Dear Prayer Partners,

When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!" (Matthew 27:54, ESV)

Praying for Transformation

Greetings from hot and dry Sedhiou!! We have enjoyed time in the villages, because most people‚Äôs work load is a little lighter, but cashew season is starting.  We have had good discussions in our groups sharing the peace and joy that we have because of our Savior. We are continuing to pray that buildings like the one pictured above will no longer be a place where people gather to pray in a language that they do not understand, and a god that is not the true God, but will be transformed into a place where God is worshipped in spirit and in truth.

In the village, BN, we have several people we would like to lift up.  Two children are healing from burns.  One little fella spilt hot water on his chest and stomach areas.  He is well on his way to healing.  Another four-year-old girl, was burned when some children were playing with paper that they lit on fire.  Her dress caught on fire and burned her from her chest to the top of her thighs. The clinic in the village does the dressing changes daily, but the parents have to provide the bandages.  No bandages, no dressing change!  Our ladies group brought this to our attention.  The dressings were running out.  We helped, but the father expressed some concern accepting help, because he does not agree with our belief in Christ.  Our host assured him it was OK to accept our help.  We want to ask you to join us in praying that this act of compassion will help open this family's heart to seek to know who Jesus really is. Pray that the Holy Spirit will draw them to Him.

Village Chief

Also in BN, the chief, is in the hospital.  He suffered a stroke a couple of months ago.  He has taken a turn for the worse.  Please pray for health, but also for him to remember the scripture and teaching that he has heard through the years through our ministry and volunteers.    We know that nothing is impossible with our God.

We always appreciate you praying for our family.  Everyone is busy with work, school, and relationships.  As we approach the Easter Season, please pray that not just our immediate family but, our family, the church, will look at what Jesus did for us on Calvary, and give grace to our families and our neighbors.  I know that we get a skewed view of things when we get most of our news through the internet, but I think we need a reminder of the victory that we have in Jesus.

Have a Blessed Easter!

Your sister in Christ,
