Greetings to you from a sunny and pleasant South Carolina.  We are so grateful that we can proclaim that Jesus is the only way to the Father.  We pray that this note finds each of you well.  We had to make a quick trip back to South Carolina almost two weeks ago.  Richard’s 98-year-old mother went home on October 19.  She passed away 31 days after her twin sister’s death.  We quickly made plans to return to be with our family.  We gathered to celebrate one who has had a great influence on our family and each church family that she has been a part of as Richard’s family traveled, as his dad served in the Air Force.  We have had a wonderful reunion with family and friends.  We have laughed, cried, and eaten too much food.  Alex and his family are not able to be with us, but we are grateful for phone calls that we have had with them. 

The purpose of this prayer letter is to help you pray more specifically for the Mandinka people.  Due to our circumstances our calendar this month has very basic prayer requests and for the most part is geared to entire villages.  If you would like to look at older calendars and pray over specific people from those villages that would be great, but maybe we could also think about people who sit on the edges trying not to be noticed, but the Holy Spirit notices.  I thank you for being patient with us during this time.  We will be in the US just a little while longer visiting with family.

Thank you again for continuing to pray for the Mandinka people.  We also encourage you to pray that Southern Baptists will continue to work together through the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to support international missions.  If you are not familiar with the Cooperative Program or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering please let me know and I will get the information to you.
